Dear Parents,
Welcome back and Happy New year to you all. I hope that you had a peaceful Christmas holiday. I offer a very warm welcome to our returning and new parents to the second term of the school year.
As
we look forward to a busy and exciting term full of learning and fun, I want to
reassure you of our total commitment to excellence in all learning and fun
areas.
Thank
you to all parents for your support during our Christmas concert. Our children
were extra ordinary as usual.
The theme for the term is “COMMUNITY HELPERS” children will learn
about different careers and explore their interest and passions as an extension
of their academic program and in the process better understand themselves,
their community and the world.
SCHOOL MINI-OLYMPICS
The maiden MTPS mini Olympics is due to take
place this term. This event is aimed at
enhancing the physical wellbeing of our children and parents are expected to be
involved. Parents will fully be informed of the date, time and venue with cost
implications.
INCURRICULAR /EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
These activities are important aspect
of learning and fall outside the realm of the normal school curriculum of the
school. The activities help the children develop talents, interest, passions,
improve existing skills, and learn new ones.
VALENTINE’S DAY
We are glad to introduce our first Valentine’s Day Gift Shower,
which will be our school tradition.
The essence of the day is to put smiles on the faces of children who
cannot afford basic needs. This will give our children the opportunity to show
love and care whilst giving. This year
we will be supporting an orphanage.
Steps to take:
Ø Look
for a shoe box.
Ø Put
4 or more gifts for a child.
Ø Wrap
the box or use a nice ribbon to seal it
Ø Write
the age range/sex of the child whose gift you boxed and write your own name as
sender.
Gifts can range from toys, clothes, games, books, Lego to non
perishable food items, snacks etc
The boxes should be brought to school on or before Thursday 14th
February 2019
It promises to be a beautiful experience.
We invite parents
from different fields to please volunteer and come in for a few minutes between
9:00am to 11:00am to talk to the children about their career choices.
You will find
attached a copy of the term’s calendar; please mark the dates as we work together
towards a successful term.
God bless you.
Best Regards,
Mrs Ib Kio-Lawson Akinnola
